Hi,
Been very ill 9+ years with CFS/Lyme. 3 years in I was diagnosed with Lyme. I did antibiotics - oral, IV and IM, treating co-infections for two and a half years and didn't notice anything. I did alternative therapies like Rife, ozone, herbals, you name it I did it. I've also done antivirals for HHV-6 with no effect.
A year and a half ago my doctor asked if I wanted to try an antiparasital protocol that included Biltricide, Ivermectin and Albenza. I started the Albenza 20 days in and within a week or so noticed improvement. It continued for several weeks and I developed a severe rash on my chest, arms and shoulders. It was very red with bumps that were not itchy or painful. I interpreted this as a major detox reaction from some organism that was dying.
Eventually, within weeks, I started slipping despite still being on Albenza. I was taking so many things at the time I didn't really know what was working. I just knew or presumed that the organism had started developing resistance to whatever was working and I was feeling worse again. I stayed on the three drugs for about three months.
We decided to try treating possible Babesia with Mepron and Zithromax for at least three months and I was still slipping back. Four days after terminating this treatment I started going downhill FAST. I started adding things that I had taken before, one at a time, and that is how I figured out it was the Albenza that was helping. Only this time it only worked partially and no rash. I have since tried it a few times and it now has little or no effect.
My main symptom is I feel poisoned, like a severe toxic hangover that doesn't go away. I also have some cognitive problems like memory and can't sleep without meds and I also have daily headaches. 95% of my symptoms are in my brain so I feel that the infection is in my CNS. My brain MRI's have always been clear, so no parsitic cysts. Other than my sleep, when the Albenza was working those symptoms went away.
I've been stool tested several times and have always been negative for parsites and I have never seen any in my stool even when doing various cleanses. I really don't have any gut issues, my bowels move okay.
So the million dollar question is what did the Albenza kill? I've done many of the herbal parasite cleanses with no effect. I've asked numerous doctors and they have no clue. If I had parasites in my brain it would have probably shown up on my MRI as cysts.
My Naturopath who uses ART muscle testing says Babesia but I don't respond to the medications for that. If anyone can venture an educated guess I'd appreciate it. The Hulda Clarke parasite cleanse didn't do anything.

Did you take all 3 at the same time or consecutively? If I remember correctly about the meds, Biltricide is generally given to those with tapeworm, and Ivermectin & Albenza are general antiparasite meds.
Going back to Albenza alone can be a problem -- I've done that and it is frustrating when resistance builds up.

I can understand how you'd interpret the rash as a detox, but I'd actually interpret the rash as an allergic reaction because of the severity and location. If you had an allergic reaction, that could be a dangerous situation for you.

The thing about meds are that the can be effective but someone with considerable knowledge needs to know what they're doing, along with knowing whether or not those meds CAN directly affect the organisms that you were targeting. I've never treated Lyme so I don't have any experience in this, but off the top of my head I had wondered why you weren't being treated with a bacterial agent along with the antiparasite meds. Perhaps that would be a question to ask your practitioner about.

Sure, I don't doubt it and it makes sense.

Although "parasitic cysts" were ruled out, did someone look at the films to rule out other possibilities? Just a thought. Parasites could be protozoa or mold. It may or may not be a factor, but could be. There is a post here of an article that it took someone 10 MRIs to find the problem; I only mention this because you mentioned CNS and "co-factors".

A negative stool test doesn't mean anything. Not all parasites are large or visible, particularly when hidden within the feces. You might want to look at this on "What Happened to Proven Sciences?"

Maybe they would show up, maybe not. It is my understanding that it is best to compare MRI & CT scan side-by-side. IF there is something there, it could show up on one but not the other, which is why it is best to do both tests when dealing with brain issues.
As far as Albenza goes, it is one of the few drugs that is known to cross BBB (blood-brain barrier). It is the reason why it is used for parasites/organisms in the brain.

Thanks for responding. You asked if I took all three at once. It was based on a protocol developed by Dr. S---?? for Morgellons. Biltricide every 5 days, Ivermectin every 3 days for six courses and when that was completed, start Albenza and continue Biltricide. I also took Diflucan every day so we needed to monitor my blood levels.
I don't think the rash/bumps was an allergic reaction cuz it came a couple weeks after starting. I also haven't never had the reaction when I took it subsequently.
I could be wrong but I believe it was working on "another level", that is against possibly Babesia which is a RBC parasite somewhat similar to Malaria or perhaps against a virus although my Babesia tests have always been negative. Albenza is known to be a "broad acting compound".
When I used to Rife I would hit all the parasite frequencies but of course it isn't proven that Rife is effective against parasites.
Regarding testing, I know there is a lab in AZ but I don't know how good they are. Do you? I was always tested at Great Smokies. I just don't know what to do. I saw some clown here in LA at USC and he dismissed everything. There are "travel medicine" doctors but that's mostly for prevention. Maybe I'm just screwed.

You could be right with the protocol working on "another level".

I love the idea that Rife was really onto something and it is a shame that his knowledge was destroyed. I think the models today could be helpful with dealing with bacteria, but I really don't know for sure. When I seriously looked into the technology, I couldn't find anything that supported that the frequencies actually killed parasites. In looking into the frequency charts I could never get to the bottom of how or who came up with the published frequencies. It has remained a mystery. To use Rife machines it takes a long time to understand the technology and that the frequencies needed to be modified to get the right "hits" to be effective; at least, this is the information that was given to me by several credible sources who use the technology.

The AZ lab has been around for a long time; they've been competitors of Great Smokies. According to a post made by wrayc (you can find it on the P Forum), he was extremely disappointed in them. He mentioned including a large worm and his tests came back negative. Great Smokies has been discussed a lot on this forum and the P Forum; people have not been satisfied with their services either. If you're serious about testing, you are more than welcome to try RHR Plus. I started the lab consultation service and use Apxr as a consultant; there are posts as to when and why it was started. 70428 has also made many posts about the services.

You can keep experimenting for years and may never get to the bottom of the problem, or if you're "lucky" it may work out in the end. It seems by reading your posts that you or your practitioner may not really know what's going on or what type of parasites are involved, or if more co-factors are involved. Because of my experiences and what I've been through, my only real advice is that you need to find out what is really going on with you. After you receive more verifiable information you can work together on a resolution a lot quicker so that you can live in health.

This is a reply to # 1,078,766Apologies for butting in here. You say you get tested at Great Smokies? What exactly did you get tested for. What did they find? I'd be interested to know.
Before I recently got my results (RHRPlus) I had chosen Great Smokies and GS came up with NOTHING. I knew they were wrong and they were VERY wrong.
Great Smokies just wasn't the lab for me. I was in shock at comparing what I know now yet GS found nothing.
Just curious. I'd be interested to know.

GSDL testing just showed negative for ova and parasites, think I did it twice. I looked at a few of your posts, have you done anything to address your parasite issues since being diagnosed?

I sympathise with your financial situation, it must be difficult.
Did you read RHR's site, with regards to what you get for your money? I've tried GSDL and RHRPlus and I know where I got value for money. I have spent thousands of pounds over the last 4+ years and I could have saved all this hassle if I'd only known about RHR back then. (Before RHRPlus, I was seeing a private practitioner and he took well over £3,500 off me and didn't help me at all, I got sucked in because I was desperate and he could see this desparation in me (along with £ signs in his eyes!).
What did you pay for tests? You say you think you had 2 done. They didn't find anything significant going on with me. I must also mention that after I my tests I was in hospital for a colonoscopy and endoscopy where H-pylori bug was found (and treated for) but it wasn't picked up in my previous lab tests.
I am only trying to tell people my story and what I've been through with regards to how money can practically be thrown away. I know of another person here who had 12 GSDL tests carried out BEFORE they found anything!! 12 x $$ is a LOT of money so in my opinion, RHR is very much value for money. One sample may even be enough. Don't always go for the cheapest, it's not always the best.
With regards to me addressing my health issues (not just parasites, but CO-FACTORS TOO) I am looking into options and practitioners.

I can understand your financial situation. I know that Medicare would not be involved or interested in reimbursing you.
I'd like to let you know that I know several people who've paid out of pocket - close to $1200+ - and received negative test results. That's a lot of wasted money and false hopes, in my opinion. If you read "What Happened to Proven Sciences" it may help to put into perspective as to why test results are faulty AND why costs for those labs are far less expensive.
Perhaps if there was a better understanding or appreciation for Apxr's work, testing methods, dedication, and very long hours he puts into observing specimens the issue of money becomes moot with exceeding the value/benefit with achieving results.
I can personally say that I've spent thousands of $ on accumulated cleanses, herbs, and medications over the years, on top of physical pain when the beast started to fight back. When I first started out I had no idea that things would drag on as long as they did. IF there was a RHR Plus available when I started out I may have been skeptical at first; BUT, in the end when results are unequivocally achieved and the benefits out weigh the costs there would be no hesitation on my part, particularly when I want to end the agony and get on with my life. I would’ve even tried out AZ Labs & GS – only IF I knew for sure that I could rely on them without submitting several tests over and over again! The money does add up along with everything else that I was trying to do with my health. In the end, the overall costs comes out to about the same or more.
In my opinion, this comes down to what is valued -- it's either we spend money on our health or make allowances for other things -- these are choices we need to all put into perspective.
Again, it's not that I don't understand where you stand on a fix income; it's happening to more people these days. I guess the real question for you is how much money have you put into your health over the years and are still looking for "answers"? If you knew that you had one shot to get an answer with a service that can deliver results, would you do it? This also means that your practitioner can use the results for a direction for healing. How do you put a value on something like that?
I've said this many times before, the lab consultation service isn't a 'get rich scheme' and far from it. Believe me when I say this and there are other costs that must be met.
I want to thank you for your post because I believe that this will help give people some perspective about the services, expectations, and our position with the fees.

Heck, I can give you a laundry list of pathogens I've tested positive for. Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, Coxsackie7 virus, HHV-6. All these tests *were* covered by insurance. Tried to treat them all without success, conventionally and alternatively.
I didn't realize initially this was a forum moderated by someone allowed to advertise their services. No problem, my mistake. IMO, $575 for a *single* sample is overpriced. Am I wrong in saying that most believe parasites don't even "shed" on a daily basis and multiple samples on multiple days is recommended? So no matter how good you are, you're going to get a false return rate. Now if the fee was $575 for multiple samples that seems more reasonable to me. Just my opinion.
Even if I did test positive I've already tried most of the herbal and prescription remedies as a therapeutic probe so to speak. I asked a complex question that probably no one could answer 100% so I appreciate your replies Rabbit.

First of all can I say I do not want to cause any bad feeling in any way by making this post. It is not my intention. I am hurt by your comments. Please enlighten me as to why you, or anyone else for that matter, would think with regards to what you say above. I'm only trying to help, that's all. There is no alterior motive here.
Many people add to posts to simply offer advice and enter into discussion. That's simply what I was trying to do, nothing more, nothing less. You responded to a post I made in that thread too so I didn't think "chiming in" would be a problem.
I would like to make this extremely clear – I am not in any way connected to RHRPlus, in any way, shape or form nor do I work for them. I have no business connection whatsoever. The only "connection" I have with RHRPlus is that I chose them to carry out some tests for me which I duly paid for out of my own pocket.
From the outset, I have merely been a visitor to CZ simply to improve and regain my health. MD Forum is, pure and simply, where I got answers with regards to my health issues. That's it.
The only reason I "chimed in" to the string of posts was because you mentioned Great Smokies Laboratories as I had used them previous to RHRPlus. Yes, this is a private forum and the notice is clear above. For the post part, I don't "advertise" unless someone is asking a specific question about testing and if they've tried all other places and didn't have success. Your previous posts seemed to suggest this. You asked a question and I responded. I also pass on information on what I know in regarding to testing. Whether or not you use us or some other operation, I still post information so that people have correct information and/or options. Frankly, I could careless who you use because the point should be that you have information available to you. If you're going to use other labs then you should know that it may take you a long time for you to derive at the truth. If you look through other posts of mine I've said this many times. I'm also here to share my experience and what I've learned. Nothing more, nothing less. Take some of the information that I've posted and pass it on to your physician. There is a good chance that they don't know that there maybe a lab problem.

You're more than welcome to your opinion; some of it is based off assumption and a lack of understand. If insurance and other lab services were so good, I don't think that people would be so dissatisfied - would they? In fact, there would be no need for me to set-up lab services to find parasites or other out of the ordinary "bugs" because those services would know that they exist! I'm sorry, but I'm not here to squabble about pricing or to convince you of anything. Again, value and what a person pays for is what people get; therefore, please don't complain. Simple.

I can appreciate your frustrations in trying many things. I know that it's not what you take but in how a formulation is made; herbs can be very effective more so than conventional meds when handmade protocol are devised. If your practitioner is putting together your protocol out of a bunch of already made pharm meds or a spattering of herbs, I can see why this may not work. Considering some of the co-factors that you've mentioned it would be more prudent, in my opinion, to devise something more specific for you.

"Sales tactic"? I believe that you've made a terrible assumption. Judging by her many posts, it seems as though she wants to share her experience since she has had a terrible time in finding answers for nearly 5 years. Perhaps her caring nature and her enthusiasm of "finally" has been misplaced by you and perhaps others as a "sales tactic". There are many people across cz forums who share their experiences whether they are on a private or public forum. Many people have come here and shared their experiences with other products or things that they've tried. Are THEY "sales tactics" or someone's experience? I don't see why her shared information should be exploited as some "sales tactic". Perhaps 70428 cares too much for people.
I know that my heart goes out to many people when I read posts, but I can't say very much because people look at it with "ulterior motives". This includes the simplest of posts on other forums. Pity!
As for "chiming in", this is a Forum and not a private email conversation. Many people "chime in" with their experiences and thoughts on posts. This should not be viewed any differently.

Yes, I did send you an email. I wasn't going to make a post but reconsidered. I felt that your comments were important to address. I'm sorry but I didn't see a "question". You mentioned that "parasites don't shed every day...". Again, you're making some assumptions and I stated that. Parasites lay eggs everyday. Let's take for instance stool sampling. There are many parasites throughout the intestinal tract, more are in the small intestine. Whether or not someone moves their bowels on a daily basis there will be parasites or ova present. What you don't seem to understand is that the long wait in observation with minimal fixatives allows for parasites to be observed; these things take a lot of time and there are also many micrographs to prove this. It takes a highly skilled person to recognize what is and what is not observed. This has been answered, I believe in previous posts & on the website. If you feel that this hasn't been answered somewhere on the site we can add it. We've had others do the same to help us.

What 70428 does is her personal business. She was kind enough to share her results with people very publicly.

We are an independent operation outside of the "system" with careful procedures in place; this has already been stated. I'm sorry but I don't understand your concerns -- are you afraid or saying that 70428 is some "inside sales person" who didn't pay for services and that this entire thing is a rouse to get people's money -- there's no lab?!? This entire thing is a hoax? Is this what you're saying or have I misinterpreted what I've read?
Since I'm looking at things from a different perspective it is very hard to see how others are viewing things. I do rely on people's feedback (when there is silence it is rather difficult to correct anything or to understand others' thoughts).

I’m completely dumbfounded by your remark. I don’t want to be in the wrong hands again. I want to be certain (as much as possible) that I can be helped and that this person knows what they are doing! I am in contact with someone who is looking at my case and has the micrographs and notes to hand and is studying as to where we go from here.
For someone such as myself who has been ill almost 5 years, SERIOUSLY ILL might I add, do you actually think for one minute that finding someone to treat me is going to be easy? Let me tell you it is not! I've visited many practitioners who, for one, do not know how to treat my infections, because they treat it like any other parasite infection or that “they don’t exist”. I have numerous infections and this is not how to deal with my situation. This is frustrating for me, believe me, I should know.
I can tell you that this is not something that can be rectified in a week, or a month, whatever. Searching for the right person takes time! If your naivety is getting in the way where you can't see where I'm coming from then I cannot even begin to make you understand or even comprehend what I am going through.
I believe my healing process comes in sharing my life story and progress. Like I’ve mentioned in other posts, I’ll be sharing my progress as I go along. We all need answers to these problems, because this isn’t just about me. If I can help one person out (including you) then I feel good. It makes sense to me to tell people what I've been through, what I've tried with regards to getting well, the struggle to find answers, etc.
And to answer your question with regards to other forums. I have searched other forums too, for answers, have posted my story there too yet you accuse me of working for RHR. Wrong again. Am I not allowed to be a member of any other forum? Can I not try and help others elsewhere that may not have heard of RHR? Someone tell me otherwise please. You seem to be doing overtime on me.
Does anyone have anything against RHR? Is that it? Are they just too good a lab and are showing people up? Have I hit the nail on the head? It's obvious to me someone or others are going out of their way to cause problems. That's how I see it.
Just my opinion of course.
I have done nothing wrong so please leave me alone.
