I was going to mention Dr. Mercola, too. He embraced BTD but ended up believing that it does not address insulin problems for type A (as you will see on his site, he personally ran into big problems). Though, I believe, he still does support other aspects of the plan.
The low quantity of protein, especially animal protein, comes up over and over again on type A forums and on Dr. D'Adamo's forum. Many of us As think he doesn't have it quite right for many type As, but on his forum they absolutely maintain that the plan is correct and vegetable sources supply all the protein type A needs.
Personally, I found low carbing was a god sent for me, before I got into BTD. I never was a big meat eater, which was part of why I found BTD interesing. But, no, that A plan does not work for me in the protein department (or fat/oils for that matter). I do find other aspects of it helpful.
