I had an virus that got into my ears. I developed a tympanal tinnitus or ear drum booming that wouldn't quit. It was driving me nuts and even though my doc said it would eventually resolve itself, in a moment of madness I took about 1/2 a drop of oregano oil (undiluted!0 and rubbed it into the backs of my ears and a little on the front but nowhere near the ear canal. My ears immediately turned a bright red, and then the oil proceeded to travel deep into my ears where it is still burning a week later. I am treating with olive oil on the outside and a few drops in the canal with a dropper, but so far with little relief. I have had days of it dropping off, but then it seems to come back at night from the heat of my house of something. I am sort of freaked out. I keep thinking its over , but then it comes back. Any ideas for treating this? The general consensus among docs and herbalists is that it will eventually dissipate, but geex, I don;'t know how much longer I can take this.
thanks,
Brian
