Hi there. I'm so glad to have found this site! Hopefully you can put my mind at rest here. For the past 12 months I have been having pain in my left lower rib area. It started on a skiing holiday, the weather was freezing and I had a cold and was coughing and sneezing a lot. I thought I had pulled a muscle initially when the pain started and just dismissed it. Throughout the year the pain has been present in varying degrees, just recently it has worsened. My ribs are very tender to touch and the tenderness is particularly bad at night, particularly as I tend to naturally lie on my left side. I do take NSAID, but they are not very effective. I have finally got round to making an appointment with my GP next week. (I am a nurse and the worst type of patient!). I am the sort of person who's imagination runs wild and I have gone through all sorts of scenarios that might be causing this pain/tenderness. I am hoping that someone can put my mind at rest before I visit the doc - does this sound like Costochondritis to you?
Best wishes,
