I hate the water retention! I have to wait till a few days into my period for my weight to go back down again... Aww :( I'm currenty in weight-loss mode and have been doing ok with exercise and everything till my PMS kicked in this week. Now everything freezes until I get my period! I don't gain weight but I don't lose any, either, although my diet and exercise are exactly the same. It's like a waiting game. I'm taking herbal tonics and drinking a lot of Dandelion to help with the retention but it's still frustrating! Does anyone else relate? How long does it take you before you begin losing weight again? Sometimes I think "Ok, I might as well eat more anyway since I won't be losing or gaining during these days"!! It's tempting sometimes. Arrrgh.
I know exactly how you feel. I have started to workout and diet as well. So far I've lost just about 25 pounds since October 08 I just recently started to weigh myself every morning. When I get my period, it's like my body just went into fat mode and will not snap out of it for about 3-5 days.. I don't know why I retain so much water, I workout even when I have my period and I've read that if you workout while on it, it is supposed to help with the water retention.
Don't give in to the cravings though, cause then all of your hard work will not pay off. I know it's hard because I have to say the same thing to myself, but after your period is over, you can focus again and be "normal"
