I'm very curious to hear President Bush this Sunday. He's scheduled to do a commemorative speech about 9/11 and then he flies down to see Miss & AL. I'm curious to hear if he ties 9/11 in with Katrina. He's already almost called Katrina a weapon of mass destruction like no other. Will he call Katrina an act of terrorism? Will he call the NO looters terrorists that had to be controlled by military force? If he plants that little seed into the minds of the viewing audience, then I become a very different person.
I could see that little seed become a seed of disintegration for the whole country, with right v left, red v blue, and/or black v white turning into outright civil war by the time the next presidential elections come around.
Will he take responsibility for the breaches in the levees? Will he blame the legislators from the state of LA for not using state funds to repair them sooner? Will he mention the wetlands problem and how so much LA real estate gets washed into the Gulf every year (partly because of the oil and gas industry, but never mind that!) Will he recommend a rewilding program for parts of LA? Will he remind the viewing public that funds were redesignated to support the war effort in Iraq back in 2001 after 9/11? Or will he remind everyone that every year after 2001 there has been more federal money allocated for the Department of Homeland Security slush fund than anything else? If he mentions that, will he admit that DHS, FEMA or whoever was remiss in not funding a possible hurricane disaster on the Gulf Coast?
Will he tell the viewing public that hindsight is 20/20 and more funding is needed for FEMA now? Will he encourage us to support a new initiative of some kind to fight looters and other lawless civilians with more policing?
Or will he unveil a new housing proposal or additional funding for public schools to help defray states' costs to absorb these refugees? Will he be the uniter instead of the divider, as he stated at the start of his presidency?
I'm just really curious as to what the feds have in mind.
Blessings,
