No it's definitely not safe. She'll have to have them removed first. The risks are redistribution of mercury in the internal organs eg the brain which could cause long-term damage. The main mercury source has to be removed first then move on to chelating the body/brain. As far as Andy Cutlers protocol (see link at top of page) is concerned, its safe to use either DMPS or DMSA a few days after the last filling is out, then wait 3 mths before using alpha lipoic acid.
