I am suprised to see carnitine on this chelation forum.
I have started to take it for my neuropathy to see if it will help restoring my nerve function.
Looking for a source I found bulknutrition.com that sells 'bull' carnitine @ ~$25 for 500 grams, very cheap. 1/4tsb is 710mg so this jar of product will last a long time.
I have seen recomendations to use 1-4g per day @ 1-2g 2-3x per day.
This might be the recomended dose for muscleheads, not sure.
As low as .5-1.5gm per day have been beneficial.
Carnitine CAN INCREASE BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEART BEAT so watch out. I also have high BP and carnitine does increase it, however it seems like the effect might be going away. I take only 1/4tsb now but if I can I would like to get up to at least 1.5gm./day
thanks for mentioning taurine, I will have to do more research on it. A quick look at bulknutrition.con I see they sell it $12 for 500gm so it is cheap enough to experiment with. What bothers me with my neuropathy is the wording "modulation of excitatory neurotransmission...." which sounds like something I may not want to try. My damaged nerves are already modulated enough!
Good luck and good health
