Hi friend! My heart goes out to you! The bleeding that follows removal for some of us can be extreme. It is so terrible to have unpredictable emotions like you describe and the
Acne sounds very painful! You body has had the progesterone that was being released from Mirena taken and now it is trying to sort out how it can rebalance itself. You are now almost 5 days post removal so it is in the early stages of removal. Some of us take a tea called red raspberry leaf tea to help with bleeding. You can find this in a natural health store. It is a natural uterus toner and is definitely worth a try! Your bleeding sounds extremely heavy and needs to be monitored. I have a history of heavy bleeding and my doctor has always told me if you saturate a pad an hour then you need to be seen ASAP. Most women do see this post removal bleeding get better(when there are no underlying issues behind the bleeding) but there are no timelines that I can give you since each of our bodies is so different. You will also need to get tested to see if all the bleeding has caused you to become anemic. This can cause serious fatigue on top of the Mirena itself being the cause of fatigue! You may be dealing with a double dose of exhaustion(anemia and the Mirena side effect)This cannot be easy on you with two young children! I have 8 month old twins and one of my worst side effects was fatigue! This has to be so debilitating for you friend! The positive note that I have to share with you is my fatigue has completely gone away at three months post removal! There is a natural product that is supposed to interfere with the chemical in Mirena and in theory should help rid the body of this chemical sooner. It is called St. Johns Wart. There is also a natural product called Rescue Remedy that can be taken to help with stress! It can help restore a sense of calm and control and can be used when under stress or anxiety of any kind! I think there are some key things you can do to try to help your body recover sooner. These are some of the things that helped me: drink lots of water(this will help to detox your body), absolutely no caffeine(decaf coffee has differing amounts of caffeine depending on the brand, also chocolate, and sugars are out as well,), at least 8 hours of sleep-if you find you are having insomnia you can try three bags of chamomile tea(let sit for a few minutes) and drink before bed this will have a medicinal effect,(if we do not get enough sleep our bodies cannot reset themselves and it can cause us to feel even worse), B vitamin complex is great, as well as a multivitamin to ensure you are getting all your other vitamins! Do you have some help close by? It would be ideal if you have someone near to you who can watch the kids so you can get some sleep! Even if someone can come for a few hours a day you would be able to get some rest and put your feet up!!! I am worried about you friend! I hope that your body is able to recover soon! Realistically, your body needs at least six months to recover but a lot of us saw many side effects get better or go away pretty quickly after removal. If you find there are side effects that are being stubborn it is possible for a hormone imbalance to be behind this and there are some remedies to help with this condition. It is still pretty early for you after removal so I will remain hopeful and positive that you will get better with some time away from the chemical in Mirena!!!! Please post back and keep us all updated about how you are doing!! Sending you a healing hug friend!!! :):):)
