Hello! I am new to this forum but I have browsed past posting quite a bit. I have a couple questions and, I guess I am also seeking advise and a friendly ear.
I was infected with HSV-1 in 2002. I rarely get outbreaks and have experimented with various natural treatments. I haven't dated much, but when I have, the reaction to my herpes have varied widely. I just started dating this really great guy last week. I told him about my infection and he said he is ok with it. But now, after an extremely stressful week at work, I am getting an outbreak.
I am currently using H-Balm and DMSO to quell the outbreak...but I am curious about other treatments that lessen the length and severity of an outbreak. I have heard about using oxygen and hydrogen peroxide...but I couldn't find how to actually use it. Can I apply hydrogen peroxide topically or do I ingest it?
I could also use some feedback on how to deal with telling my partner that I am having an outbreak...like I said, I have already told him that I have herpes, but the relationship is so new I am so nervous about freaking him out. He is a nurse, so he understands a lot more about herpes than any other partner I have had...so that is a plus. Maybe I am just being a bit chicken-shit about it...but I am nervous about it.
I would appreciate any feedback or advise or suggestions! Thank you!
