...I don't understand why that article says that threadworms are strongyloides.
The most basic descriptions of strongyloides I have read say the adults are 2 mm long, only just visible to the naked eye. And I've read that the adults are clear...clear enough to see their innards from the outside. In fact, one description, with photo, points out the two bulges in their inner tracts, which are darker than the body of the creature.
The article linked here clearly states that threadworms are one to two inches long. I imagine that they aren't clear, as well.
Back to the strongyloides...
...The reason why strongyloides are not infective (contagious) is that the ones that exit must go through a soil cycle of some kind before they reach the stage where they can infect animals. (Humans are animals.) Even then they must enter through an opening in the skin, I believe.
Other points made by various articles don't make sense...but I am too much of an amateur to write them here.
I think we need clearer information.
