I wanted to share this information because in my opinion it validates the power of iodine.
This morning I was watching part of "The War" on PBS. A really long documentary on WWII. In one of the segments they were interviewing an older gentleman who was probably around 75-80 years old. He was recounting how he was a prisoner of war in a Japanese prison camp for a number of years. He also walked in the Bataan Death March. One day the Japanese were making the prisoners march and this particular gentleman wasn't lifting his feet high enough so a Japanese soldier stabbed him in the knee with his bayonet. He was saying that as a prisoner in a prison camp, they were given no medical treatment so his injury became infected and he got gangrene. A US doctor who was also a prisoner wanted to take his leg off but he refused. This gentleman said his wound was so bad he could see bone and also see thru to the back of his knee. Sooo the only thing the US doctor had on hand was...iodine. They began pouring straight
Iodine on the wound and it got rid of the gangrene and saved his leg. This segment was not on medical intervention but on prison camp war atrocities so he didn't mention how long it took to heal his wound or how much
Iodine was used. But today he has full use of his leg because of iodine.
