I am feeling like practically a new woman in terms of my most major symptoms (near daily headaches and fatigue, coldness) on just 1-2 tsp. of kelp per day, plus about 2 tsp. cod liver oil, my "super PH minerals" from fulvic, and about a tsp or two of blackstrap molasses in ACV & water in the AM. My strong feeling is that the kelp and cod liver oil are the main reasons I'm feeling so much better. I assume from the anti-inflammatory effect from the oil, and the albeit small
Iodine content of both. The breast lumps seemed to soften, but a few weeks ago I added some saw palmetto on the advice of my naturopath, and while it did make me feel stronger, it brought on a mid-month mini-period and swollen, sore breasts with more lumpiness again. That seems to be what happens anytime I take herbs that affect hormones - I think saw palmetto is supposed to have more of a testosterone boosting effect (probably explains the extreme horniness for a few days), but I've also read (can't remember the source) that testosterone converts to estrogen in the body (for women, anyway). The increased boobage is aesthetically pleasing (considering I thought mother nature had determined I didn't need 'em anymore, having not fed any babies with 'em by age 40), but painful and lumpy, not so good. I'm wondering if I need to try Calcium-D-Glucarate to remove excess estrogen.
Anyway, back on topic - I do plan to try supplementing with extra iodine, though I'm not sure yet what form, because I don't know if what I'm getting from the kelp is enough to resolve ovarian cysts, endo, etc., and to really go after the fibrocystic breast thing. I feel so good on this current small dose, though - could that mean this is the right dose for me? I don't doubt I've still got plenty of stored toxins, though I've done my share of cleansing over the last 10 years. I'm a little delicate, and too much too fast usually puts me into a rather debiliting crisis, but maybe with
Iodine it would make me stronger during the detox....
Any thoughts..... ?
