hey-- I live on a property with three houses.

One of my "housemates" lives across from me and has three dogs. He was born in the same small Southern town that we are in now, though he lived in New York and places overseas for a great many years. He is 43.

For whatever reason, starting about five weeks ago when he moved into his house-- he's been the victim of Murphy's law at every turn. I didn't really believe him until small but persistent things continually went wrong. For example-- when I go out and get him food, it is always his order that gets screwed up. Now-- part of this is my memory, and part of this is him just being picky, but there was another time when his order, seemingly simple, was totally screwed up in multiple ways. now, this is something small, obviously, but it's stuff like this that happens everyday or every other day. Like-- my dog and his dogs have bug bites. I thought it was fleas in our courtyard...but I've only seen two fleas total. All of a sudden, two days ago, his house was swarming with them-- not any other house on the property, just his.

Or, I let him share my bike-- and told him I had class on x and y days-- he said he'd only use it in the mornings. Today I went to get the bike and it was gone and so I had to call him and get the bike back asap (I ended up being 8 min late to class.) I understood that mix ups happen and wasn't willing to be annoyed about it, and told him it was still cool that he use my bike-- and told him my schedule. His response was "the way things are going, it won't matter if you tell me the time, this stuff just keeps happening."

So, obviously, I think it's part Eyeore Syndrome (alternatively known as the Grumpy Bear Malady) that makes up the New York side of his personality.

But, stuff keeps happening. we've talked about him getting his house "cleared" by voodoo, shaman, or some other spiritual process-- but he has yet to do it (to be fair, he's in law school.)


So-- this thing is tied to the house, or tied to him moving to the house, but it's not restricted to the house in the way you hear most spirits are. does anyone have any ideas on what this is and perhaps some ideas on how to clear it?
