Recently I have been engaged with a different health forum and this is a post I deposited there. A little background. The subject line at the other forum was weighing in on Canadian research and instituting guidelines relating to male osteoporosis. One of the forum participants (who is a nutritional student in this partular community) commented about his use of Fosamax for his treatment of osteoporosis.
This put me on tilt as you can see below...
One of the problems with the Canadian premise that creating measures or guidelines can be instituted to safeguard against a disease is that the causes of the disease and the solution are ambiguous at best. The Canadian researchers are able to assess risk factors, diagnose and suggest treatment for the management of the disease. This basically means they are clueless with regard to the disease of male osteoporosis.
They know a lot about it though and have piles of studies to prove it to themselves. They know the percentages of men to women, they know how often fractures occur and they can measure the bone density etc. They have figured out how to manage something and look like they are doing something. And yet the emperor has no clothes.
Still they are clueless as to the cause but with the data piled higher and deeper they have become good ‘managers’ of a disease. Since I am a newcomer here and have yet to explore the many interesting posts at this forum I was a bit interested to see the discussion around the use of a chemical drug foisted by the machine of modern medicine called Fosomax and made by a notoriously evil company called Merck.
Natural medicine in its unadulterated state recognizes the Human Body in a holistic light and thus it does not embrace disease nor does it assume that there is a magic bullet for any one condition. Magic bullets are the mindset of allopathic medicine which sees the body as machine that can be fixed like a car in a garage and assume they can fix osteoporosis with one magic potion.
Modern medicine has no soul. It has gone so far as to spin the notion that the human body actually attacks itself and labels the disease as auto-immune. ‘Auto’ maybe like a car or machine?
The human body performs trillions of independent yet integrated functions every second. It operates continuously through the parasympathetic system on a subconscious level constantly balancing and adjusting and creating millions of chemicals hormones vitamins and nutrients. It is always ensuring the optimum level of performance with whatever conditions it is given in the moment. It is always looking out for itself in the most positive way that it possibly can using whatever ingredients are provided to it at any one time. To say that a body that is so exquisitely self-intelligent and so highly advanced greater than any computer or machine and to say the body is attacking itself is outrageous and mind boggling.
This is the state that so called modern medicine has advanced or rather entrenched itself. This is the mentality that is bringing more and more toxic solutions like Fosomax to pollute the mind and the body. They spew chemicals and call it research or science. How absurd. What we are left with are researchers that can measure things. They can manage things. They make it look soooo scientific and meaningful. As naturopaths are we to be fooled and seduced by this?
Why should measuring bone density have any value? Is bone density really a factor in whether an arm will break easily? Or is there something else at play such as the flexibility of the bone? Or the strength of the supporting muscles, tendons and tissues that surround the bone?
Since when did calcium become the major point of emphasis in assessing bone disease? What happened to all the co-factors or the function of calcium in the body to offset acidity? What about studying the role of nanobacterial hidden infections in bones? What is the role of the kidneys and the parathyroid to regulate the calcium and minerals? What about the body’s ability to assimilate calcium and minerals in the digestive track starting with the stomach? What about the role of parasitic infection or an impaired bile flow from the liver? What about the role of heavy metals to interfere with mineral absorption or create free radicals? The point is that the body operates as a whole.
Treating a condition with a non organic toxic chemical solution like the drug Fosamax with multiple side effects does not answer anything and completely bypasses the body as a self intelligent organism. That is why there cannot be a one shot solution to ‘fix’ osteoporosis or any so called disease.
Each body is individual and has unique requirements and characteristics. The real disease is in beliefs being perpetuated mindlessly and in particular the herd mentality that accepts the propaganda of the medical establishment and which has been partially co-opted now in naturopathy too.
Even some holistically doctors have fallen for the belief in using magic bullets and the false notion that there is an auto-immune disease. They have bought the mindset of the allopath but have substituted chemical drugs with herbs. They are in a different cell block at the prison but have decorated the walls instead with ‘natural’ remedies.
