alcoholic
A message from the 3 pertinent idea's of the Big Book on our personal adventures before and after (meaning sober or drunk)
"Our description of the alcoholic, the chapter to the agnostic, and our personal adventure before and after make clear three pertinent ideas:
(a) (For some it's If we were)That we were alcoholic and could not manage our own lives.
(b) That probably "no human power could" have relieved our alcoholism.
(c) That God could and would if He were sought. Being convinced, we were at Step Three, which is that we decided to turn our will and our life over to God as we understood Him."
"WE, OF Alcoholics Anonymous, are more than one hundred men and women who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. To show other alcoholics "precisely" how we have recovered is the "main purpose of this book."
What are we to Show you? The Big Book, preferably an uninterpreted version of the Big Book
"Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with "THEMSELVES."
Many cling and run to the outside sponsorship system ignoring A.A's B idea and it's fellowship which is JUST ANOTHER SUBSTITUTION for the real Message of the Big Book as people places and things will (not can) easily divert us in A.A.
Keep coming Back and watch the circus but most of all let go and let God.
