Maple syrup is cloying and I wondered if organic honey can be substituted. I'm in day 6 of the fast and feel wonderful but dread the maple flavor.

NO honey   by melissajo0818   17 year 1 of 1 (100%)

The book states that no honey should ever be used in this diet. Only Grade B or C organic maple syrup or cane juice.

Try molasses or evaporated sugar cane juice instead.   by John Cullison   17 year 1 of 1 (100%)

IIRC, molasses or raw evaporated Sugar cane juice are mentioned as possible substitutes in the book (in fact, I believe the cane juice was preferred over maple syrup but much harder to acquire back then). Check the book for details.

have what you like!   by cacaolover   13 year 1 of 1 (100%)

I say have what you like - if you dont like maple syrup then rebel and do not subject your taste buds to that dreaded maple flavour - if you would prefer raw honey then use that - pyreneeshoney.com have the best honey and there are many other sources - raw cane juice may be an option! Use what you like but it make it raw honey or unrefined cane juice crystals!
