I have a horrible case of hives and have done the steroid route with no cure, they do disappear for a few days, but come right back when the med's decrease. Any suggestions?

Hives are the result of some kind of allergy. You need to find out if it from food, some chemical, allergens, etc. Once you find the answer you can avoid the culprit.
Besides doing this I would recommend a complete body cleanse. Bowels, liver, kidneys etc cleanse could be helpful.
Keep a diary of all your activities, everything you eat and drink and when you get the hives. Also keep track of your bowel movements to make sure that you do not get constipated.
