I have been bleeding for 6 months now. I have gone longer in my past. I would just like to know what the hell is causing this and what can I do about it? The doctors are not helping me by just telling me it's my hormones, and giving me birth control pills!!!

Hi, I am hoping you can help me or we can help each other. I am the mother of a 25 yr old daughter who has had period issues since the age of 14. It has gotten progressively worse and never better. To make a very very long story short as the years go by and she gets older her periods are more messed up than ever. Never ever having a true diagnosis has not helped us much. In the beginning we stupidly listened to medical doctors and one event went as far as to tell her she needed to follow the Atkins diet! In her early teen years she was carrying some extra weight maybe 20 lbs nothing near what you would imagine would spark a doctor to recommend such an unhealthy diet. She is now to the point where she has bled for over a month, usually she bleeds longer even 6 months at a time but never goes to see a doctor for a true diagnosis or when she does she gets a run around, offers for prov-era etc... she was on shepherds purse for a long time and chaste berry but they now no longer work either? She had no period for 6 months and started on Lorna Vanderhaege Estrosense, that jump started her period and now it will not relent. She is weak and dizzy and seeing an MD tomorrow which I know will eventually lead to some ridiculous treatment such as the pill or drugs.
I am hoping you have found some treatment that has helped you and you can shed some light in the meantime while we search for our own answers. Much appreciated and I wish you the best for your health :-)

Bleeding and hormone problems by curedisease 14 year
I read in the book "What your doctor will NOT tell you about PMS" by Dr. John Lee that natural progesterone will stop the bleeding. Can your doctor prescribe you NATURAL Progesterone (in capsules) from a compound pharmacy? Meanwhile, buy the natural progesterone from the health food store, which although it is very low in milligrams, it can help. It helped me stop bleeding. Apply it under arms, belly, between thighs-- throughout the soft part of your skin--daily. Also consider natural bioidentical hormone pellets with a "natural" doctor. They are hard to find but in Susanne Sommers' book(s) she provides a list of doctors in the country who do it. It's better than getting a hysterectomy, which is probably the next thing your doctor will tell you you have to do if you do not stop bleeding. Wish you the best.

Me too by #130785 14 year
I have been bleeding since the 26th of June and haven't stopped, even though my period that was somewhat regular up until that point wasn't due to begin until the 8th of July. The doctor mentioned the same thing to me, hormones, and also mentioned me getting on the pill, which I DON'T want to do. I went in for an ultrasound and bloodwork last week so will find out the results on the 15th. Did you have a vaginal ultrasound done to determine if it's a uterine fibroid?
And also I might add my friend said she bled for about 3-4 months and had abnormal periods but got on the pill for it and was normal for awhile.
