Infantile Seborrheic Eczema Definition   by #56153   19 year 1 of 1 (100%)

Infantile Seborrhoeic Eczema is common condition affecting babies under one year old. The causative cofactors could be: genetic, vaccination, lack of breast feeding, intollerance to mother milk.

Another name for Infantile Seborrhoeic Eczema is "Cradle Cap", as it usually starts on the scalp or the nappy area and quickly spreads. Although the symptoms look unpleasant, the skin is not sore or itchy and baby does not feel uncomfortable or unwell. The symptoms usually clear in just a few months.

If baby is not breast fed, the triggere could be artificial milk formula. If a baby is breast fed, the triggere could be the food that mother is consuming.
It can be something that mother can tolerate perfectly, but baby is sensitive to, like nuts, citric fruit, fish, eggs, milk products, MSG, Aspartame, Margarine, food additives , ...

Chemicals used for washing baby clothes could also be the trigger.

Use of natural moisturising creams and bath oils can help to speed recovery.
