Why don't regular doctors recognize or treat adrenal fatigue?

Adrenal Fatigue by Ginabina25 14 year
The western medical model is basically to treat symptoms as they arise rather than incorporate a more holistic view of identifying and treating underlying problems as the cause of the symptoms, therefore they are simply not trained to approach the health of their patients in a holistic way like most alternative medicine doctors do. They are also greatly lacking in the knowledge and acknowledgement of the importance of preventative lifestyle (where would the prescription companies get all their money from if we actually started preventing the problems that make the use of their drugs seem so "necessary" to us?). It's a huge manipulative process that values money over the actual health of the patients. Trust me, I've learned this first hand from personal experience of almost 2 years of trying to get to the root cause of my health problems and only finding the answers after delving into the world of holistic health and finding a practitioner who was actually able to help me!
Adrenal fatigue is one of those underlying causes of many medical problems/symptoms that go unnoticed and/or untreated by conventional medical doctors. I blame the system more than the doctors themselves as I believe they are part of those who are trained to believe the prescription roulette is really the only way to achieve bodily health. The stress of the American lifestyle greatly adds to this increasingly common problem as the adrenals produce hormones such as cortisol and DHEA that help us cope with stress. The more stress, the less cortisol that is produced and ultimately it starts taking from your DHEA reserve, leading to multiple health problems. Not to mention the affect it can have on other hormones that adrenals are also part of the process of creating. Sex hormones can begin to be altered leading to plethora of other issues/symptoms/problems and a cycle begins. This is why it's so important to find a practitioner who will treat the problem as a whole, not as individual problems as that is the only way out of the cycle.
Best of luck to you if you are suffering from adrenal fatigue. I recommend Adreset (will take a while to heal adrenals so diligence and patience are important) and finding a practitioner who really knows what's going on.
Best of luck!

The Allopathic Medical Paradigm by SeattleTom 14 year
Adrenal fatigue is a condition which is not recognized or treated by allopathic medicine. According to that paradigm, adrenals cannot become fatigued unless one has a condition such as Addison's Disease. The blood tests that allopathic doctors use to detect adrenal fatigue only detect extreme cases, and are not subtle enough to detect the forms that most of us have. Saliva tests are not used by conventional allopathic doctors unless they have a natural health background. If you have a saliva test that confirms you have AF, and tell an allopathic Dr. about the results, they probably still won't recognize it as being an indicator of having AF.

There is no pill for it by No Unicorns 14 year
AF sufferers often bounce hopelessly from five to 10 doctors, who tell the patients that their malady is "all in their head," and prescribe them an anti-anxiety or antidepressant medication before sending them on their way.
Why does Western medicine miss adrenal fatigue?
Most of doctors' continuing education is pretty much controlled by the pharmaceutical industry. There is no drug needed to treat AF, so there is no reason to bring it to the doctors' attention. There are no profits to be made, plain and simple.
