try something else then by cacaolover 14 year
Never look at anything as failure - as far as I'm concerned failure is just feedback about what you shouldn't do - if it aint working try something else. I am not into cleansing just now but I hear infr red saunas are good! With that you can't go wrong... I am into raw honey and medicinal mushrooms - I am also into superfoods like purple corn maca spirulina cacao etc - making smooothies is great - I use nuts avacado and coconut oil to give it the creamy factor as opposed to yoghurt which I think only exacerbates my skin. Have you ever tried any of the superfoods?

master cleanse by justgold79 14 year
I've attempted to do it before but failed. Probably from not doing the salt-water flush.

what's bad about honey? by justgold79 14 year
What's the reasoning behind Burroughs disliking honey? It 's because it's predigested, or less healthy? I'd like to know the EXACT, concise reason.

replacement sweeteners by cacaolover 14 year
I have done The Master Cleanse before and spent an awful ot of money on maple syrup. I would have saved money using raw honey which in my opinion is more nutrtious than maple and tastes just as good too - I think a raw honey like eucalyptus chestnut or oak would be a good replacement one that comes from a tree and is very dark.

Burroughs sez... by John Cullison 17 year
... that raw molasses is one possibility, and that evaporated (raw) Sugar cane juice is the best. The book has all the details.
The point of the "sweetener" isn't really for the "sweet". It's for the minerals in the sweet. This is why the maple syrup needs to be grade C (or, since B is all we can get now, grade B) -- not for the sugar, but for the minerals to be found in the lower grade syrup.
Burroughs would probably not recommend honey at all. As for other syrups... well... again, what you're going for there is the mineral content, not the Sugar content. So if you are getting a fruit syrup from fruit grown in soil with excellent mineral content, then you'll probably be OK.
So if possible, get molasses or evaporated Sugar cane juice. Use other substances only as a last resort.

Yes, maple syrup can be replaced by a syrup from other plants. by Plato 17 year 0 of 1 (0%)
Maple syrup is available in about 1/6 th of the world, while in other parts of the world there are other natural sweeteners that can be used instead. Raw honey is available in many parts of the world. Unrefined molasses is available in many parts of the world. Palm syrup is available in some parts. Apple syrup is available in other parts.
It is important to select natural sweetener, one that you can tolerate. If you are unable to tolerate a sweetener available ... you will have to change the sweetener.
