My son, 7, was diagnosed with acid reflux as an infant. It seems to go away for a time, but now it is back. He burbs loudly, coughs and has pain when this happens. I don't want to put him on Nexium as the doctor suggests, but would prefer to control this with diet. I'd appreciate any suggestions or experiences. Thanks.

Investigate food allergies by trying an emlimination diet. My daughter's reflux cleared up when we went gluten free.
Reflux can sometimes be caused by weak muscles in the esophogus so I don't know what would help for that.
