How healthy is Okinawa Coral Calcium?
[Answer This Question] [Ask New Question]
I've heard WWII bomb fallout makes it bad source for coral calcium by north 18 year 1 of 3 (33%)
I've heard that Worle War II atom bomb fallout in the waters of Japan makes it a rather toxic source for coral calcium. (Also that coral calcium is just calcium carbonate, a poorly absorbed form of calcium to begin with, but there are arguments on both sides of that part of it).

A population of Centenarians by jci 18 year 0 of 1 (0%)
Okinawa has some of the oldest living people in the world. The islands have a large population of centenarians. Their life expectancy is 81.2 years with the rest of Japan at 79.9 and the USA at 76.8 years old. They eat a very healthy Diet and large variety of different foods including seafood, fish and shell fish. They also have extremely strong bones and have about 20% fewer hip fractures than do mainland Japanese, and Japanese have about 40% fewer hip fractures than Americans. So asking how healthy is Okinawan Coral for Calcium, I don't see it effecting the local population in any way and by the way, it has been 50 odd years since the war ended. But make up your own mind! Happy health!
