Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health Through Diet Millenium Edition (The Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD))
by Elaine Gloria Gottschall [edit]
DescriptionThe Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), developed by Dr. Haas for Elaine Gottschall's daughter, has been used successfully by many people to treat the following: Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Celiac disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Chronic Diarrhea, and candidiasis. The premise of the diet is that damaged intestinal walls and bacterial overgrowth are a part of a vicious cycle that wreaks havoc with the body's health and immunity. The diet restricts the type of carbohydrates that feed these bacteria, thereby restoring the body's inner ecology. We recommend that you read Elaine Gottschall's book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health through Diet, for more in depth coverage, tips, and recipes about successfully using SCD to treat illnesses. |
Elaine Gloria Gottschall (Biography)
Elaine Gottschall is a biochemist and cell biologist, specializing in the study of the effect of food on the human body. She received her bachelor's degree in 1973 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Montclair State College, Montclair, New Jersey, and has done post-graduate work at the Department of Graduate Studies in Nutrition at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick, New Jersey. While some people consider the diet unscientific because it is free of drugs and surgery, research shows that the SCD addresses the root causes of many diseases, rather than simply masking those symptoms with drugs and/or surgery. Elaine has campaigned for much of her life to promote the dietary relief and cure of these diseases that affect so many people worldwide. Her book has been translated into several languages. She lives in Baltimore, Ontario. Elaine's fax number is: (905) 349-3420 |
