Tibetan numerology, as discussed in the book "The Twelve Layers of DNA" by Kryon and Lee Carroll, states that the energy of the number 8 "...is a practical number"; it stands for "Structure, Practical, and Manifestation."
The art piece started out as "8 X 8": There are 8 boards with 8 white beads placed over holes in each board in various geometric shapes. Initially I was thinking about numerology only for the white beads in order to get the energy of 8 X 8, a double energy of Manifestation. Brown beads were to be placed on all of the holes in the boards not covered by white beads, but there weren't enough of them, so the option was to surround the white beads on all sides--up, down, sideways, and diagonal--with what brown beads I did have; interestingly, there were just the exact amount of brown beads in order to do this. There are 152 brown beads total; doing the numerology for this number: 152 = 1 + 5 + 2 = 8 (!), another energy of Manifestation, and hence the name of this piece: "8 X 8 X 8: Triple Manifestation."
