So, I'm starting my juice fast either tomorrow or Saturday. I'm starting with a goal of three weeks, but at that time if I'm not happy with my weight loss and feel like it would be beneficial for me to continue for another week or so, I will.
My main objective is weight loss but the prospect of detoxing my body is also really exciting to me. I have been a pesco-vegan (not meat or dairy or eggs, just fish) for five years, and a totally vegan since last month when i gave up fish; i eat very healthfully, except for when my sweet tooth gets me into trouble :)...
i do think i have lots of chemicals in my body to detox though, if i havent already gotten them out. I did drugs and drank a lot for a few years and ate horribly unhealthy diet foods, full of chemicals, like sugar-free diet chocolates and tons of diet sodas and diet red bulls and mass amounts of splenda and i cant believe it's not butter, etccc.... uck!!

i also have has major issues with food. i have gone through "minor" "phases" of bulimia, and other phases of all-consuming food, calorie-counting, and exercise obession. I am an emotional eater, a stress eater, a boredom eater. I feel that over the past few years these issues have begun to mend themselves. Meditation has helped me calm down a great deal and put things in perspective. I think that these 3-4 weeks of very restricted diet will help even more by accelerating this learning and healing process while i take off the twenty pounds i've put on over the last year and a half.

So!

MENU:
fresh vegetable juice
distilled water + green powder
distilled water + berry powder
kombucha if i need a pick-me-up

I plan on doing Bikram yoga 4-5 times a week, which greatly accelerates both my metabolism AND my detoxification, so I'm not going to deprive myself of some extra vegetable juice.. I foresee drinking a lot more juice than I would if I was planning on just resting during this fast/diet.

I will probably have 2 green drinks, 2 berry drinks, and maybe... 32 oz of vegetable juice (??) daily. Kombucha is a great healthy substitute for coffee or caffeinated soda, and i've heard it also aids detoxification; but, since it tends to dehydrate me (i'm not sure if it's diuretic effects are related to it's detox effects?) and i'm doing Bikram yoga, which also dehydrates me, i plan on drinking massive amounts of water. The Whole Foods across the street from me doesn't have one of those reverse-osmosis distilled water dispensers, and the bottles of distilled water are expensive, so I'm probably going to drink lots of spring water. I'm sure it's better than nothing and I'm not really sure I think some trace minerals are going to completely sabotage my whole experience.

OK! a little long-winded but I would appreciate any feedback or support!!! I really really would! Tell me what you think... any advice would be really appreciated.
