Day One Master Cleanse blog
Date: 7/18/2006 3:25:00 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2127 times My fiance and I both decided to do some cleansing after hearing the experiences of my sister, who is currently on day 6 of the Master Cleanse. Nick (fiance) and I just graduated college where both of us had active social lives which unfortunately led to mass consumption of alcohol and cheap, low-quality foods and very little exercise. We decided to cleanse to rid ourselves of our toxins.
We have also had a lifestyle change for almost 4 months now, including regular exercise, organic foods, less meat products, little dairy and lower fats. He has lost a lot of weight in the past six months, and my weight has been pretty stable after I quit binge drinking about one year ago (funny how that one works, lol).
Day One started out with a bang (!) thanks to the SWF. I made up the lemonade mixy thing and suprisingly it was not repulsive. Am I the only one out there that thinks the lemonade is actually pretty yummy? I splurged for the nice Grade B maple syrup at Whole Foods and I think it was a wise choice because it has such a good flavor that overrides the tart lemon and spicy cayenne pepper. The name of it is "Shady Maple Farms," pure, organic Grade B syrup and it was $9.99 for a 375ml/12.7oz bottle.
The afternoon of Day One proved to be a challenge. We both wanted to eat for the sake of eating (I like to cook), but we pleased that we weren't truly hungry. Nick got extremely irritable and described feeling a little foggy and a little drunk. Wondering if detox of alcohol caused that, especially so soon?
