My NY Mets,The miracle Mets, The Metropolitans, The Amazins, who play at shea butter stadium? lol, not really, more like Shea Stdium! NAmed along time ago, 1964 to be exact after William Shea? The Mets replaced the NY Giants, Now SF Giants, who left
New York City for , ahem? San Francisco....What?...Yes It is true...lol, What a boner move that was...The Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers also left and went to Los Angeles.
But, I digress, let's get back to the green...
Shawn Green's career with the Diamondbacks appears to have come to an end.
A baseball source told MLB.com that the veteran outfielder was dealt along with cash considerations to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for a Minor League player. Green, the source said, agreed to waive his no-trade clause and the deal is now in the hands of the Commissioner's office, which has to approve it because of the money involved.
Green arrived at AT&T Park on Tuesday afternoon and was seen on the field hugging teammate Craig Counsell and a Diamondbacks coach.
It is not known exactly how much money will change hands in the deal, or who the Minor Leaguer is. Green is set to make $9.5 million (wow thatsa lotta spinich)
next year with a club option for the 2008 season at $10 million. If the option is not exercised, Green would receive a $2 million buyout.
Green is hitting .283 with 11 homers and 51 RBIs this season.
But Green may soon arrive in the greatest city in the world.
