Therapon Skin Health, a leading manufacturer of skin care products available through plastic and cosmetic surgery practices, announced a breakthrough discovery - the development of a patented UV protection based on quantum physics and specially manufactured nanoparticles that trap UV energy to prevent damage from UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. The transparent particles trap photons of UV light and allow transformation into small amounts of heat and vibrational energy to nullify harmful oxidizing energy.
The effectiveness of the new particles, or “Sun Trappers,” has been proven far superior to any existing technology in extensive tests. Traditional FDA-approved sunscreen agents are either organic chemicals that absorb UV energy and are destroyed in the process, or, like Zinc and Titanium oxides, they rely on mirror-like dispersion/reflection effect. Both types have severe limitations and undesirable side effects such as requiring oily creams, causing an unnatural whitish discoloration of the skin, and leaving degradation products and energy that possess harmful potential to skin.
Dr. James Beckman, a plastic surgeon and CEO of Therapon Skin Health, has worked for three years with a team of chemists to perfect the technical aspects of the complicated manufacturing process for his product. The new class of sunscreen may take several years to gain FDA approval for over-the-counter use, as all sunscreens are considered drugs by the FDA, and this product represents an entirely new method of protection.
“Sun Trappers capture over 99 percentof all UV rays with only a two percent concentration of particles. This discovery will make the concept of SPF as we know it today go the way of the dinosaur," said Beckman.
