Everyday that goes by and I don't smoke I'm a bit prouder of myself. I've been through so much just getting here that cheating would mean I'd have to start over and I don't EVER want to relive those first days. I can tell you it gets easier. And for me, it's just not worth it. And for you, it's not worth it. You may not have what I have, but eventually it'll get ya and THAT's NOT JOKE!
Last Satuday I was diagnosed with Buerger's Disease. A peripheral vascular disease which effects circulation in you libms and extremities most prevalent in smokers. Ther is no cure, only cessation of smoking can help. If I didn't quit smoking my already blue limbs would develop gangrene and eventual complete AMPUTATION.
It's hard, but not so hard when you're facing this option. I went to a clinic specializing in vascular medicine. THey are not sure exactly if this is what I have, however, they have managed to assess I have someting, which may be thoracic outlet syndrome and/or lupus.
I've known for awhile there was somthing not right with me. I'm glad to find out now. It's sad that inspite of this I still get the urge to smoke.
For all of you battling nicotine addiction, just remember your mind controls your body not the other way around. And like how we CHOSE TO SMOKE, WE CAN CHOOSE NOT TO!
I'd love to share our experiences. We can all use the ear.
