I finished Day 1!

The first day is always the hardest for me, so I think it's a HUGE victory that I'm into day 2 now. The only thing that drives me crazy now is the metallic taste in my mouth. I lost 2.2 pounds after Day 1, which was what I was expecting. I think 2 pounds 1 day, 1 pound the next day, for a total of 10 pounds a week is a pretty regular weight loss schedule. I'm going to fast at least 21 days, but hope to make it as long as I can, until I experience true hunger. I'm thinking that might be 42 or 49 days. I've tried fasting in the past, and the longest I've ever gone for was 7 days. I've always wanted to do a longer fast, but wasn't mentally prepared for it until now. I'm feeling really tired and a little depressed (I was an emotional eater, so food always picked me up), so I'm going to go read and take a nap. I intend to start exercising regularly after the 3rd day to keep my metabolism boosted. But for now, I'm taking it slowly.
