Day One...
I'm journaling each day of a ten day juice fast. My goal is to heal my poor digestion, food sensitivities and candidiasis.

I am done thinking about it.
I am done contemplating it.
I am done attempting it.
I am done failing it.
I am now embarking on my first 10-day juice fast. It's the first day today and so far I have zero hunger. In fact, I feel full.
The point of doing this, is to heal my digestive system. Sixteen years ago I developed IBS. My triggers were greasy, fattening foods. Seven years ago I developed systemic candidiasis, along with multiple food sensitivities, chronic fatigue, abdominal bloating, constipation, etc. My health practitioner told me my gallbladder is congested, this is why I had the intolerance to greasy foods in the past, and now to fat in general.
It has literally taken over my life. Ages 24-30 have been completely consumed with the desire (and many attempts) to get better. Many doctors and holistic practitioners attempting to heal me, yet admitting they cannot figure me out.
I have noticed positive results from fasting in the past (my longest fast was five days). My fat digestion improved greatly. But things have slowly gotten worse again. At this point, all I can eat is raw veggies. Even on this limited diet, I still have incredible bloating (have an umbilical hernia from it!) My system runs so acid all the time that I can only put raw alkalizing veggies into my body safely. Since I cannot digest even these very well, my system remains acidic.
Well, it's time for me to step out of the way and let my body heal. This will be very difficult for me because I have always equated food with comfort and emotional nurishment. But I hope to let go of my food addiction and allow nature to take it's course.
Let's find out what happens, shall we?
