Can Yoga be Harmful? Of course it can if you do it the wrong way.

Of course it can if you do it the wrong way.
Yoga is very popular these days and people believe almost everything that is published in books and articles about yoga and what their teachers tell them.
I tried quite a few different styles of Yoga and that with different teachers and even if it supposed to be the same style it was different depending on the teacher and vise versa.
I recently had a Yoga teacher attending my class (Dorn Method Course) because despite doing Yoga the Pain in the back did not really disappear. What he learned kind of surprised him but he appreciated that new knowledge and after applying it he realized that he rid himself of his Back Problems without stopping Yoga.
But there were a few things he needed to adjust when he does Yoga Asanas.
Yoga is very good to relax and connect to the Universe by balancing our Energy centers and concentrating on our Breathing but some movements and postures are potentially harmful because they go outside of our natural movement range of our joints and therefore produce or at least favor existing Misalignments especially in the hip joint, knee joint and the sacrum. Because this is the foundation of our spine the root cause of Back problems lies there.
I hope one day this knowledge will be accepted by all Yoga teachers and practitioners so the fantastic concept of Yoga will be even more effective for all.
If you know people doing Yoga or you teach Yoga please forward this message to them and encourage everyone to try the following:
You do not need to stop Yoga but you should try to avoid extreme positions that ‘overstretches’ the knee or ‘twists’ the hip too much or contains stretching of the hip joint less than 90 degrees with straight legs. This is most important for people who suffer Back problems or have a history of Back Pain.

Now if you add the Dorn Method Self Help Exercises to your Yoga program and if you do them at the End of your Yoga then you can make sure that all your joints are still in the right position or you even can bring them back into their proper position.
It is easy, costs nothing and take hardly any time so why not trying it right?
