As you read this, Oxfam is rushing tents, blankets jerry cans and basic hygiene kits to survivors of the massive quake, which flattened many communities in Pakistan and India, and left an estimated four million people homeless. 

In El Salvador and Guatemala, the deadly combination of a volcanic eruption and heavy rains has displaced thousands of people and destroyed much of the region's coffee crops.
