Compost's Up!
Yesterday, my good friend Your Enchanted Gardener came over and helped me to start a compost pile, something I've wanted to do for a couple of months, and something he's wanted me to do for the past 5 years!
Date: 6/14/2005 9:36:43 PM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 1622 times It was fairly simple, and the Enchanted Gardener and I put a small one together in about one and a half hours. Most of the art of composting comes with layering--a layer of food scraps, followed by soil, followed by water, then greens (either fresh cut grass or yard clippings) followed by more soil and then water, followed by leaves, more soil, water, food scraps, etc. until you run out of ingredients. Your Enchanted Gardener added a special ingredient to my compost pile--some Holy Water from the Tierra Miguel Foundation Farm, infused with Life Force from the Earth, Heavens, and the Holy-people who made it. We also blessed the compost with sprinklings of biodynamic soil from the farm, and a worm or two we found in the soil.
I'm going to get more worms and put them in the pile. I know I'll enjoy watching them eat their way through the "cake" we made for them.
For me, these past few days have been a blending of Heaven and Earth as manifested through human-kind. Sunday, I spent the day at Dare', a spiritual community in Topanga Canyon, California that meets monthly at the time of the New Moon (Spirit/Heaven). Monday the E.G. and I made the compost pile (Mother Earth/body), and Tuesday, I'm writing about it, bringing the ideas into manifestation as the printed word (human-mind)!
Thank you, Your Enchanted Gardener!
Love,
Liora Leah
