Amazing Reiki
Remote healing apparently helpful for son's basketball injury

He was playing basketball and somehow hit his head. He was unable to see for several minutes following this head trauma. He did not tell me about this until the following Tuesday. He had not gone to the doctor's office, and had not gone to the hospital for a check-up. His girlfriend had done some thorough research on the internet, and based on her observations of his symptoms after the accident, determined that he had experienced a mild concussion. She was able to go to his workplace and do his job for him on Monday and Tuesday, so that he could rest at home.
I let myself get totally into a fear-based mode, and since my son does not have health insurance, I called around to area hospitals and doctor's offices to see what the family could afford and what he might need. Answers varied from place to place and of course the standard answer was that nothing could really be determined unless he came in himself in person. Several family members were willing to help pay even if an MRI scan was needed, and those are quite costly. Together we could have afforded whatever care and follow-up that he needed.
Then I remembered that I was scheduled for my 2nd Reiki II class that Tuesday evening. At first I thought I might have to cancel it if my son agreed to go to a hospital ER to be examined.
But then the more I thought about it all the more I realized that it was quite timely that my Reiki II class was scheduled for this particular night. What was planned for this session was a distance healing. My Reiki Master teacher would be sending the healing energy and I would be using my energy to keep things grounded in the room.
Because it is essential to get permission from the receiver of Reiki before doing a remote session, I called my son's house, but no-one answered the phone. It was getting toward time for the Reiki class, and I began to wonder if I would reach him in time.
But then my phone rang, and it was his girlfriend calling from his workplace. He was with her there, trying to work for a few hours late Tuesday afternoon, to get back into the swing of things.
I explained about the Reiki, the remote healing, and the need to have permission. She said she would ask him. An hour or so later he called back and gave permission. He said he would be watching a basketball game on TV at the time the remote healing would be sent.
So we fast forward to Reiki II class. The remote healing was quite something. As my teacher was sending remote healing to my son, I was sitting in a chair in a relaxed meditative state, eyes closed, seeing many-coloured, fast-moving circular patterns, and my spirit animals, which I had forgotten about until that moment, guiding the way. So much happened during this half-hour. When the session was complete, after a few minutes, my teacher rated my ability to deal with the energy and give support energetically as excellent, even though it was my first time.
She then described her experience of my son. It was clear there had been a real connection there. I was confident that he had received the healing energy. Reiki practitioners are simply channels of the energy, it does not originate from them.
It's hard to understand consciously just how it works, but it does work, time after time.
Shortly after class was finished, I went over to my son's house for a visit. He was still focused on his basketball game. He did not have much to say about what he had experienced during the healing session.
The next morning he was able to go back to work, 3 days after a serious head trauma involving temporary vision loss. He has felt normal ever since.
That's the amazing part. He may have just gotten better on his own, in that short time, as young people are resilient. Who knows? He has had no headaches, and no other symptoms that would indicate post-concussion complications.
Whatever happened, I am glad I was sidetracked from the fear-based allopathic mode (though this would certainly have been necessary if he had headaches or inflammation, or any other indicators of internal bleeding or other internal problems) and am confident that I gave something immeasurably curative to my son by choosing him as the receiver for the remote healing with my Reiki master.
