Cures? Treatments? My Story.

I think BV is caused by antibiotics, which literally translated means "against life". Before I cite my own personal experiences with this I will note the facts...
1. BV is not an infection caused by bacteria, it is an imbalance created by a shift in the natural vaginal flora for *unknown* reasons.
2. Antibiotics kill bacteria and Lactobacillus is a bacteria. Antibiotics are against life, they are not discriminatory in the type of bacteria they kill, although some bacterias have become resistant to some types of antibiotics.
3. Since BV is not an infection or illness, it cannot be CURED until the imbalance is put back into balance.
This is where modern medicine fails miserably!
Here's my experience (short story)...
I went to the doctor for a routine pap, which was returned abnormal. I had no symptoms of any kind. The doctor told me it was likely caused by a 'Bacterial Infection' and prescribed me antibiotic pills to take, which made me nauseated and sick for a week. I was told to return in 3 months for a re-test to see if the pap was normal. I had to return much earlier because by then I had started having symptoms - itching, discharge and an odor. I do not douch, do not use perfumed soaps, bubble bath or any of the other various "causes" they warn you about. I did take baths though, usually with an added essential (not perfume) oil. So my doctor said discontinue the baths, prescribed more pills - a different antibiotic this time - and sent me on my way.
This continued for more than a year, gradually the symptoms (mostly odor) became so bad I was embarassed to leave the house. I started doing research on the internet and found some real information, homeopathic and more sensible recipes for treatments. One of which was douching with a hydrogen peroxide and water solution. This works as a treatment because oxygen kills anaerobic bacteria and does not harm aerobic bacteria. But, it only worked for me as a treatment, not a cure. The symptoms would return within a few days of stopping the treatment.
I was prescribed Flagyl (pills and gel), Clindamyacin (pills and cream)- all of these several times over the course of a year and a half. I was also on Birth Control pills and had been for 10 years. They are well known for upsetting the delicate balance of our systems. Then I was eventually prescribed Tindamax - this one is very powerful and known to cause cancer, but I took it anyway just hoping that SOMETHING would cure my problem. The symptoms always went away when I was on antibiotics but would return shortly after I'd finish them.
I was depressed and ashamed and at a complete loss as to what I should do. There are only 2 types of antibiotics to treat this and I had tried both many times with no cure in sight.
