Hi Leslie,
Thank you for taking the time to send a personal note.
You' re welcome, M! My pleasure!
I am very excited to grow the Job’s Tears seeds. Many years ago, when I was a little girl, my mother told me the story of Job’s Tears. She was a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary each day until she died in October 2005.
She was buried with her beloved rosary.
"Thank you for sharing this story."
I am hoping to grow enough seeds to make rosaries in her memory for my three daughters, my granddaughter, my sister and myself.
"How touching."
Is anything special required in order to successfully grow the seeds?
"They like sun.
They like water.
This is the perfect time to start them.
They will grow in a large pot.
They will grow in the soil.
I live in the greater Phoenix area. Will the seeds grow well in this type of climate?
Please do your best,
and keep me informed so I can tell others
of your experience.
I have killed more plants than I have ever successfully
grown of all kinds, and I have a lot of plant success stories
as well.
Job's Tears is one of my favorite plants.
So try them.
They grow wild in lots of places, such as Hawaii."
Is it okay to plant them immediately?
"Yes, plant them immediately."
My daughter lives in Prescott, Arizona,
a beautiful town which sits at 5,500 elevation.
Summer temperatures never exceed 85 degrees and winters are a mild 40 degrees. Would it be better to grow the seeds in Prescott?
"I would recommend sending her some seeds as well,
and inviting her to celebrate the memory of her grandmother
with the growing of these seeds.
Growing the seeds, when dedicated with an intention,
connects the inner and outer worlds. Your Mother will be pleased
to have such an living plant alter.
Also reread all the information on the
web site about Job's Tears, Marianne."
