I am dressed and ready to head out for the
weekly 12 step group I have been attended.
It is CODA. Codependents Anonymous.
They have these groups everywhere.
They are free. This one is a Step study.
We are using a great book called
"The 12 Steps; A Way out."
We are in the second week of Step Four tonight.
The book says, "Step Four helps us get in touch with
our shadow, that part of us that we have hidden away so long--
our repressed nature.
We will see that our "shadow" is an integral part of our nature and must
be accepted by us.
This part of our nature hides our resentments,
fears, and other repressed feelings.
I call this the material in the Crack.
In the Enchanted Garden work, The Crack is also
where the Soul is in hiding. As we move the energy
of the material, we uncover more and more Soul.
Soul is our individuality within God.
The Soul plays with physical reality in cohoots
with our people who mirror us and draw us up
these stuck feelings.
The book says that our resentment keeps us stuck.
This chapter asks us to take a personal inventory,
and this is described as cleansing a closet.
I imagine most of us who do cleanse work, are really
asking for the energy in our stuck places to move.
There is always an emotional component to any cleasings.
Be aware: it will come up when you fast, or do any kind
of tissue cleansing. It is suppose to.
The chapter starts out describing denial...a way we protected
ourselves as children. I will get into that later--the kinds and
varieties.
Here are some of the questions we will answer tonight:
What anxieties do you have about memories of your past?
What fears od you have about taking an inventory?
Make a list of your childhood coping behaviors.
Our present behaviors are the resutl of our need to survive in an
environment over which we had no control. Now we can choose
a different way for ourselves.
Which of your behaviors are mot damaging to your life?
Explain.
then it asks us to look at resentments and recognize how
damaging they are.
it cause resentment the major cause of spiritual disease.
Got to run!
So here are some question.
I will be looking for the answers
and invite you to do the same.
Comments welcome here.
