Big Storm?
Last night of the year morning.

that is coming toward San Diego,
and when is it going to arrive?
I was concerned about being out of town when
my new housemate arrives from Berkeley.
She is a teacher, and will be working at SDSU
and in TIjuana.
Just called her. She is not going to drive down
until Monday, so that relieves the pressure at this end.
This is the last day of the year.
I am feeling emotional under the weather myself
and feel more than staying close to home.
The plan is to go out to the property in Hidden Valley,
the site nearby where Dr. Jensen has his ranch.
It some sense that is a homecoming for me
to sleep overnight in that area.
On the other hand, a more local Hanukkah party feels
more up to my speed right now.
I did some a tad more cleanup last night of the bookshelf
near the TV in my bedroom.
I am struck with how much stuff there is in here.
I have been dealing with the overflow for two weeks,
the piles...lots of progress...give myself credit...
I bought four plastic containers that hopefully can
hold some of the notebooks I have on my shelves
so I can put them in the basement securely.
Where is the copy of the Plant Your Dream book
that I worked on in 2001. I mean the Big book before
I do a smaller version that I had out for a year?
Amazing that I let this get out of sight!
What are my goals for the year?
I am reminded that my Karma/dharma in this life
is to be a writer.
I feel a feel frustration as I survey the room,
giving me feedback for where I have put so much energy.
I feel pressure to begin dealing with financial structures
but want to clear some spaces leaving room in here for the
speciific projects I will work on.
I feel a need to evaluate and decide where I want to put my energy,
so I feel more effective.
What do I want to make of this time

Jensen is a good model for that.
He was a late bloomer it seemed.
We can't live all our past lives out at once.
Leaving time and space for cleanup is part of the creation,
and that takes a ton of time as well.
My shoulders--I have been avoiding
looking at how stiff the joints are.
How much time at the computer will they allow?

Big storm closes part of I-5, spurs flood alerts in Oregon

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Heavy rains and high winds lashed Western Oregon on Friday, triggering a landslide that closed Interstate 5 over the Siskiyou Summit and prompting flood warnings on rivers from the Portland metropolitan area to the California border.
Jackson County declared a state of emergency as some 500 residents of three mobile-home parks along Bear Creek in Ashland and Phoenix were evacuated in advance of rising water.
Residents of low-lying areas along the Rogue River in the city of Rogue River were also urged to leave their homes.
Numerous trees were reported down in the Medford and Grants Pass areas as strong winds pulled roots out of the soggy ground.
Streets were flooded in both towns as drainage systems were overwhelmed. Residents collected sand bags to protect basements and garages.
Flood warnings stretched from the lower Columbia below Portland to the Chetco River near the California border.
Rivers were expected to crest between Friday night and this morning, but a new storm system was expected Sunday.
U.S. Highway 101 was closed. by fallen trees and mud south of Crescent City, Calif.
