Hilton San Diego Resort Hosts
6th International Feng Shui Conference August 5-7, 2005
Sixty of the World's Leaders in Feng Shui Get Together
for an Organic Celebration!
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - July 19, 2005 - Hilton San Diego Resort. The five-day meeting of the International Feng Shui Conference will draw together an estimated 400 participants and 60 teachers in areas of Ecological Architecture, Solar and Green Designs, Space Clearing and Geomancy.
According to visionary Roger Green, “Practicing Shui involves a simple shift of attitude toward an Earth-friendly cosmology that serves life. Working together necessitates a vision of individual, communal, societal and global harmony. At this conference we aim to encourage collaborative learning, through the exploration and integration of all the living design and healing arts.” Green, the conference developer, chose San Diego for the site because of its dream location as well as the array of farm fresh foods available.
More and more people want to go Organic. Foods grown locally from San Diego's premiere biodynamic and organic farmers as well as “Heart and Soul” natural food companies will be served at the Hilton San Diego Resort during the 6th International Feng Shui Conference. “It only made sense to have the finest foods possible served at the conference,” said Leslie Goldman, who calls himself Your Enchanted Gardener. This special event program is named “Organic Celebration” at the Hilton.
The “Enchanted Gardener's Lunch” is planned.
The Hilton's Austrian born, Executive Chef Herman Schaefer has been exposed to many organic foods and is now one of Southern California's top creative Chefs. He has been awarded seven consecutive Gold Medal Awards from the Southern California Restaurant Writer's Association. Chef Schaefer is known for introducing unique culinary concepts to the full service resort and spa, and he will partner with San Diego's Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener, to link some of the freshest and finest locally grown organic foods with the Hilton's Bayside Terrace Grille Restaurant.
Goldman, who teaches that, “Not knowing who is growing your food is like being intimate with a stranger,” specializes in cultivating friendships with San Diego organic farmers at his local Farmers' Markets. He seeks out and honors Natural Food Industry products that he esteems for not only their outstanding quality, but because they are backed by producers whose products reflect the Heart and Soul of their creators. The Rodriguez family, fourth generation of organic growers, is growing foods specifically for the International gathering. “A top chef enjoys the finest of ingredients for his menus. My goal is to deliver to Schaefer varieties of foods that have never been served before in a commercial setting. The end result I am seeking here is to further establish an on-going alliance between local farmers and the Hilton,” Goldman stated. “We wanted to work with the Hilton. They are very avant garde when it comes to inviting in new innovations.”
Among the esteemed participants at the International Conference are:
Janus Welton, a design principal of Eco-Arch DesignWorks, combines a thorough knowledge of Feng Shui with Environmentally Sustainable Planning, Architecture and Interior Design. Welton will be signing her new book, “The Living Elements of Healthy Building Design”
