Getting ready for an incredible day
at the Farmers' Market.
I have been out of town for three weeks.
I really miss all my local farmer friends
especially my international friends
who have various food booths.
I am missing especially Arshlan and Zahida
formerly from Bosnia. I hope his niece
from Turkey is still in town. She is so cute.
I would like to see her again.
I am convinced that our Local Organic Farmers
are our First Natural Defense for authentic Home Land Security.
We once celebrated "G.I. Joe" during the Korean War.
G.I. Joe Defended our nation.
"Joe the Farmer," our local organic farmer,
is now upholding the health of our nation
against all odds. He really needs us each
to go out of our way and spend our food dollar
where it can make a real difference.
I am so proud to be a Member of the Organic Trade Association,
one of our nations leading defenders of the Public Good.
I am thinking this morning that if our dear President
should ask me to head up the Department of Home Land Security
I will think twice before refusing this offer.
I would create a national day not only of Prayer, but Friendship.
I would issue name tags with first names in large print,
and ask everybody to go around for 24 hours saying hello to each other.
Being on a first-name basis with your neighbors
is a good start to ameliorate fear of Terror.
Then I would proclaim an open door policy.
I would ask everyone to leave their doors open for 24 hours
and invite anyone who came by in for a good meal of organically
grown foods.
I would ask all the Non Violent Communication Experts of our
Nation--the Marshall Rosenberg Types--to stop all their International
Activities for a Day and come home. I would give
a day of Amnesty for all Gang Members and Criminals
who could sit down with Police Officers and other Political Criminal Types
and speak to their issues of Childhood Trauma, each listening to the other.
I would ask Kleenex Company to co-sponsor this "Cry-In"
or "Cry-Out."
I would put some of the Gang Leaders in State and Federal Posts for a week.
I am sure they could do a better job than some of the current elected officials
who have friends in computer vote hijacking.

Together we can show the Navy where the American people stand on the Iraq War. We support our troops who are compelled by their humanity to speak out against the unethical occupation of Iraq.
