The Elijah Minyan, one of San Diego's Jewish Renewal
Communities, will celebrate Shabbat att the Enchanted
Garden Intentional Community, 10-2 PM, Saturday, May 21, 2005.
The Shabbat service will be hosted by Leslie Goldman, AKA, Your Enchanted Gardener,
Maggid of the Enchanted Garden as named by Rabbi Zalman Schacter-Shalomi,
"Zayde" of the Jewish Renewal Movement.
Rabbi Wayne Dosick, inspired Rabbi of the Elijah
Minyan, and author of many books on Jewish Life and teachings
will lead this "very special outdoor service."
Goldman, asks that participants arrive early to set up.
They should bring chairs and "down dress" appropriate to be in an overgrown garden.
Goldman's "Devar Torah" will include
harvesting and counting Holy Barley Grains
with the intention of restoring
to the Jewish people their literal Omer.
The Omer Counting, a ritual of Shavuot, the festival of Weeks,
is celebrated Kabbalistically by Goldman, who grows Barley
and does Tree of Life Meditations as part of his daily Shavuot
preparation.
"In the ancient times, when we had the Holy Temple, we grew Barley.
Today, we have lost the Holy Temple. I am bringing back the Holy Barley,
something we lost, something we left behind. The Temple is being restored
now. The body physical is the Temple we are each asked now to sanctify."
says Goldman, an Essene minister ordained by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely.
"The key to restoring Eden is increasing understanding between men and women. This is the gateway to opening the Enchanted Garden, a name for Eden in these times.Toward this end, Goldman is now sharing The Seven Love Cures, words men need to know and women want to hear.
He will read one at the service.
Goldman admonishes,
"Our home, located near in the State College area near Arosa Street,
had a fire a number of years back. Our 1/3 acre, surrounded by canyons,
is an expression of human potential and nature working hand in hand. Right now
it is plants 10- humans 2.
"We have a garden always seeking more loving gardeners both
of the Soul and Soil. Don't come expecting a manicured garden.
You will find an Havdalah garden here rich in
natural aromas, intermixed with a lot of messes,
and poetry ready to be written.
Such is life," he says.
