This woman’s neighbours helped to plan her perfect wedding

Susie had always been ‘very close-knit’ with her neighbours. Each year they all have a block party, every Christmas they put out mini trees, and now and again they do cookie exchanges (which sound like great fun).

But the couple’s choice of venue wasn’t just sentimental.
Susie’s mum suffers from Alzheimer’s, and Susie and Miles wanted to make sure they could put together their wedding as quickly as possible, and with not much money spent, so her mum could enjoy it.
‘Me and Miles have been dating since high school and we pretty much always knew that we were going to get married so we didn’t really put a lot of pressure on it,’ Susie told ABC News.
‘In the past couple years I think it became more apparent to Miles that more than anything else, it being extravagant or waiting for a time when we’re less busy, it was important to us that she be there for the wedding.’
Having lived on the street with Susie’s family for years, the neighbours knew about her mum’s health issues, and decided to step in and help out with the wedding planning.
A kid from the neighbourhood volunteered to DJ, Susie’s brother ordained the ceremony, and another neighbour offered to do videography (the photos were captured by Lindsey Kay Photography).
All the decorations were provided by neighbours too, with lighting organised by Susie’s dad and a few other men from the area, and flowers cut from a neighbours garden.
While the cake was made by a local bakery, neighbours took care of decorating it with flowers and fruit to transform it into Susie’s dream cake.
