Day 0 - preparation
Background and goals of fasting
Date: 2/29/2016 12:36:57 PM ( 8 y ) ... viewed 846 times Its a spring clean! Today I am preparing for my dry fast. A little about my circumstances and the reason for fasting. I am a working adult so will have to stay active and unfortunately miss out on some fasting activities (like dry scrubbing, resting, etc) but will be incorporating daily walks into the routine. I have had a completely dry (5 days) and a few semi-dry (2 to 3 days) fasting experiences before and several combined water/juice/ semi-dry fasts all with great results. I am a no stranger to alternative medicine and weight loss. Lost weight using traditional methods before (sensible diet and vigorous excercise) but this time want to try something different. My biggest problem is that I rebound to compulsive eating/snacking behaviour afterwards and even though my diet remains healthy, its the habit that bothers me. I do need to shed a few pounds which should help with joint and backpain. I am also regularly suffering from chronic sinuses/colds which quickly affects my lungs every time (especially in the colder months), so hoping that dry fast will help with clearing that up at least on some level. To be honest, I just enjoy the feeling of rest that my body gets when I am fasting.
Today I am just drinking fluids (had coffee with almond milk in the morning - speaking of breaking habits- warm herbal tea throughout the day and water) and in the evening plan for a clense (with saltwater and herbals). I am also going to have some ground flax seed, warm ginger lemon tea, vitamins and some probiotic tonight.
I am doing this for health as well as spiritual reasons and happy to have found a place where I can lay out my thoughts. Stay tuned!
