Spreading the word about the National Heirloom Expo 2015
This Plant Your Dream blog tells the story of how I was drawn to participate in The National Heirloom Expo, The World's Fair of Pure Food. The Fifth Annual event will be held September 8-9-10, 2015 in Santa Rosa, CA.
I am seeking support for this Seed Dream:
I want to help The National Heirloom Exposition become more well known through the "Vehicle" of The Enchanted Garden Mobile's Journey To Win Back Our Sacred Seeds and my writings on the Plant Your Dream Blog.
The Enchanted Garden Mobile is my 68 VW Van. I have successfully completed the 1600 mile trip three years in a row. Each trip has been a Rekindling of Faith in my ability to surmount health issues and concerns that "she" and I would be able to successfully make the trip.

Spreading the word about the National Heirloom Expo 2015
Notes with Paul Wallace
I had a meeting with Paul Wallace yesterday on the phone. Paul is the director of the Petaluma seed bank as well as the national heirloom expo held each year at the Sonoma fairgrounds.
The next show is September 8-9-10 2015 and I'm going to do everything I can to be there. I hope you'll be there too.
My journey to the National Heirloom Expo began at the Hillcrest Farmer's market in San Diego before proposition 37 got on the ballot in California. The year was 2012.
I was already on board with the labeling GMO effort although in truth I already saw that GMO's needed to be eliminated from the farm bed.
I do not believe the argument that GMO Seeds and Non GMO seeds can co-exist. The evidence that GM corn will contaminate indigenous corn is the work of Ignasio Chapela. For a thorough look at this issue, read this chapter from the book, "Don't Worry, It's Safe to Eat" by Andrew Rowell. The chapter extracted from the book is called "Immoral Maize." What is immoral is not only the maize itself, but the immoral ethics applied to suppress the science that told a different story that the Pro GMO story. For an excellent review of the issue and the book see "Don't Worry, It's Safe to Eat" from the Rodale Institute.
I have spent years writing about Sacred Seeds
I have spent years writing about sacred seeds.
My work, plant your dream, is based on the power that comes when we connect our intentions with seeds that we plant and then participate in their growth.
It's is very act of growing the seed that can connect us internally with our own nature as a sacred seed.
When I speak of Winning Back Our Sacred Seeds I imagine a world of literal sacred seeds--original heirloom seeds-- growing. I also imagine a world where we become release our own selves as sacred seeds and inspire each other through our actions in the world, behaving as sacred seeds. This I see as the key to peace.
Iti s so very important to hear one another, to be in community with one another.
Gardening is a path to bringing peace. The metaphor of the seed is basic to human existence.
I see return to the very principles of democracy that founded the United States America.
We were born be be a nation of gardeners seed savers with leaders who understand the power of the sacred seed.
The National Heirloom Expo is a gathering of Pure Food Seed Freedom advocates.
I became aware of this gathering when I received one of 160,000 packets of San Marzano seeds, commonly used in tomato sauce for pizzas. These seeds were donated to the Prop 37 Campaign.
Right Now, many of us have our Sacred Seeds trapped in boxes
Pizza, one of the most popular foods in America ,is symbolic to me of the box where our dreams are stuck. From our seeds, We grow food. Food itself is more than something we need to survive, or comfort ourselves.
Food is dream food. Food is intended to help us fulfill our dreams.
I am on a mission to win back seats and I see the national heirloom expo as a natural place for me to advance my mission.
THROUGH GIFT OF GRACE I EXPERIENCED STANDING IN FRONT OF THE WHITE HOUSE IN 2011.
Through the gift of grace I had the opportunity to stand in front of the White House in 2011. One of my friends made it possible to attend the Natural Product Expo East thanks to the company she worked for. It happened that my first East Coast tour of 11 day, and the day I was to be in Washington D.C. coincided with Organic Listening Day at the USDA.
Having a few minutes at the mic and winning the praise of some of the organic USDA leaders, and shining at the Expo East that year was an epic moment on the timeline of my life.
It happens that the person who organized the organic listening day--Mark Lipson--was also being given a leadership award to following night by the organic trade association. During his remarks of acceptance he took time to acknowledge my presence at the USDA the day before. This gave me an opportunity to stand up and receive an ovation from the leadership of the organic industry.
It was at The Organic Summit, a gathering of VIPs Expo East that I connected more strongly with Robert Quinn of KAMUT international.
I WAS ALREADY DEVOTED TO HEIRLOOM WEEK WHEN I MET BOB.
I was already devoted to heirloom anciently at the time when I met Bob. The fact that he had taken a handful of inherited ancient wheat that he named, and brought it into thousands and thousands of acres of the staff of life real dough was a meeting meant to be.
I thought because of the successes I experienced during that time on these coast but I would likely return there again in 2012, but receiving a packet of non-GMO seeds from the Bay Creek heirloom seed company change the course of my destiny once again.
Rather go east and 2012 I was inspired to go north, I journey of more than 1600 miles round-trip when I included a visit to the Frey Vineyard in redwood Valley.
My relationship with the fFrey family began in the early 90s. It was at the food growing grounds of Rancho LaPuerta in Mexico or I met Tamara and then Katrina Frey.
THE ENCHANTED GARDEN MOBILE AND IT'S JOURNEY TO THE NATIONAL HEIRLOOM EXPO
when I decided to go north rather than East question of the day was how was I going to get there? My pride and joy is a 68 VW van that I called the enchanted Garden mobile that more and more wins praise wherever it goes.
I am merely the driver as time goes by I see of this vehicle that very much I am empowering with its own mission to win back our sacred seeds.
All three years that I have taken the enchanted Garden Mobile on the road to the expo the journey has been problematic.
In 2012, the first journey, I prepared by polishing up the vehicle externally. I prepared myself internally by preparing the vehicle for the road

I had enough energy to get there…not enough to organize my campaign..
