As I see it, tics and mites (transmission vectors) and over 40 years of toxic life style represent the cause of MD for me."
As a Morgellons sufferer who is clearly getting well, I have for some time now embraced the notion that MD involves multiple spirochete co infections together with heavy metal and general toxicity, immune suppression and hormonal imbalance. In my opinion, Lyme disease and other spirochete driven infections are a very relevant area for deeper investigation as it applies to MD.
Why is there such resistance to the concept of chronic, persistent infection with either Lyme or MD.? I view most disagreement as a lack of awareness, and an intellectual indifference towards approach¬ing a very complex issue. Doctors are simply too overwhelmed dealing with the pressing needs before them to risk their time or their licenses by questioning prevailing medical dogma.
I do still believe that we can overcome the usual resistance to progress with the traditional application of education and research. However, for various reasons, meaningful government research into Lyme or Morgellons does not seem likely any time soon.
We need more research into the role that diet and nutrition together with specific food based treatments play in the effective management of patients with severe chronic disease. Since this is not an acknowledged notion, the greatest challenge is the ability of individuals from very different disci¬plines to work together effectively in a unified di¬rection. Progress is being made at some private research institutions, but at this point, modern medicine does not have much hope to offer to Lyme or Morgellons sufferers.
Meanwhile, it seems prudent to pursue cost effective natural ways to manage these diseases rather than masking or ignoring their symptoms. To survive in these dangerous times, we all must find ways to support our bioterrain and strengthen our organ systems. In this regard, people like Mr. Common Sense (software developer, writer of the blog Morgellons, a Mundane Approach), Mel Friedman (Morgellons advocate and founder of the He Cures All Foundation) and John Burgstiner (Founder of Logos Nutritionals and developer of an acclaimed bioterrain treatment protocol) clearly are leading the way and contributing beyond measure.
The problem, however, is that we have lost precious time, and the incidence of this disease is in¬creasing. Furthermore, bias factors can re¬tard progress as well. Most bias is rooted in issues of money and power. Who feels they would lose from these insights? Certainly not the health care consumer, who could only benefit from a more knowledgeable treatment approach. The insurance and managed care industry that has denied thousands of requests for treatment?
Doctors who have made substantial income from these companies to ne¬gate the validity of this disease? Individuals who want research money diverted elsewhere? Bureaucrats who have been slow to respond? Has the combined effort of these groups intimidated some doctors into not giving Lyme and Morgellons disease proper attention? You bet they have!
Personally, I now avoid primary care physicians and all pharmaceuticals, and I consider both equally toxic. Honestly, I give the credit for my recovery to specific dietary supplementation, tannins, herbs, vegetables, and adaptogens introduced by way of food based mecha¬nisms for 18 months now. I have no doubt that together with chelating therapy to reduce heavy metal toxicity, this approach is the primary factor that is fueling my recovery. I am completely convinced that probiotics, digestive enzymes and thymic support became instrumental in my return to a productive lifestyle. MSM sulfur and serrapeptase further served to reduce biofilms, and specific minerals like magnesium allowed me to establish proper blood alkalinity.
Go figure...God gave us everything we need to avoid and heal disease in natural food!
Godspeed,
