The Tiberi project--A Seed Dream
The Tiberi Project
When Alex Tiberi and his wife Claire bought 28 acres along the French Broad River in Alexander in North Carolina in 2004 they knew it would require significant work. Half of the property had been abandoned in the early 1980’s and was covered in Virginia Pines and virtually inaccessible. The initial goal was to remove the pine for pulp, mulch the stumps and crowns for erosion control and pasture, and install a finish-quality road at a comfortable grade along the steep NW facing portion of the property. During the initial mapping phase of the project it was determined that a strong likelihood of encountering dense rock existed so the road layout was carefully threaded between subsoil rock formations.

Alex Tiberi was always kind to me when we would meet at the Pacific Symposium. Numbers of years I would do a brief Closing Ceremony on the final day. Numbers of times, I would do this right before he spoke. Alex is a man filled with awe and wonder. I would not put anything impossible in front of him.
In his profession as an acupuncturist, he worked with kids in part.
He was kid-like.
The Enchanted Garden Installation I had across from Registration was in the way of many. It blocked the path and slowed people down to get by. It was a place of nature.
I corraled Alex numbers of times and asked him to plant his dream. He would stop and do this. We had a few brief moments, but with everyone, he was real.
I see this URL. I want to look into it.
Alex was not at the Pacific Symposium 2013.
I set up a small Altar this year again after an absence of two years on this spot where for many years I had this major expression of nature.
The Altar this year was mostly private. It was unannounced. It had my mother's Chicken Liver Bowl that I inherited, and in it a few Sacred Seeds, and a picture of Alex Tiberi.
Few noticed it was there. As the days went by, I claimed the little space more.
On the third day, the photo of Alex Dissapeared from the bowl. I moved the bowl to a more private corner and put another photo of him in it. I wanted Alex's indomitable spirit to be there in a moment when I was on a healing journey to reclaim my own innocence at the Pacific Symposium 2013.
This morning, weeks after the Pacific Symposium 2013, I am taking some moments to reflect on my healing journey there, and to plant some seeds of Morning Glories. The Morning Glories will grow for my dreams renewed, and for Alex Tiberi.
