Complicated Jaw Procedure--who has a handle of this?

In the world of specialization, I am not sure I have the specialist who knows how to work with the jaw and mouth condition that I have now.
I have arthritis in my jaw and a limited range of motion that makes some dentistry difficult.
My regular dentist has sent me to an Oral Surgeon because I have an infection under the 31 molar tooth on the right lower.
I have seen two dentists who both confirm this infection.
The tooth in a normal mouth opening could be saved with a root canal, but I cannot open my mouth wide enough enough to work in the space.
So, the tooth is being extracted.
I am not sure how this extraction is going to effect the TMJ arthritis condition that is effecting the lower jaw.
There has been some nerve pain that was intense within the last ten days that I have been treating with castor oil packs and mud.
The use of herbs has been burning the gum.
About six weeks ago, the symptoms started to show up that were
diagnosed by Pablo Liciaga, my dentist, as grinding. He suggested a mouth hard. This seemed to improve the situation.
Then i had a kidney stone Procedure that was very painful.
Following that, a week later, the pain in the right jaw started to show up again.
It was not as intense as the jaw pain six weeks ago.
I do not know if the extraction, with the limited mouth opening, will further
aggravate the TMJ.
I am schedule to go in for the extraction today.

I feel I need some other kind of doctor who can see the whole picture.
I may need to discuss this with my Dr. Bill Bugbee who did my hip revisions.
I am not sure that the extraction is going to resolve the overall problem I am having.
Arthritis in the jaw....limited ability to open my mouth.
